Position Summary
- Cook: Responsible for the preparation and serving of food, including texture-modified and therapeutic diets, in accordance with facility menus and relevant federal, state, and local standards. Will assist in ensuring proper receiving, storage, preparation, serving, sanitization, and cleaning protocols, while supporting the Dining Services Director and leading other staff as necessary in their absence.
- Safety: Must utilize protective gear appropriately, handle cleaning solutions safely, and report any equipment needs or malfunctions timely. Adherence to established safety and quality standards is critical, including following infection control and sanitation procedures.
- Punctuality: Consistent attendance and timely arrival are essential, with a focus on completing assigned tasks according to schedule and responding promptly to communications.
- Customer Experience: Represent HCSG positively by being courteous and cooperative with supervisors, coworkers, and client staff.
- Resident Experience: Engage in positive, respectful interactions with residents, staff, and facility guests.
Qualifications
- Demonstrate a positive attitude with the ability to follow written and oral instructions and perform routine, repetitive tasks consistently.
- After completing the necessary training, utilize leadership skills autonomously while ensuring safety and well-being.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, with experience in food preparation advantageous. Completion of an approved sanitation and safety course may be required.
- Current ServSafe or Food Handler certification is mandatory per state and county regulations.
- Must consistently adhere to scheduled work hours and maintain punctuality.
- Compliance with COVID-19 Vaccination Policies as mandated by state, local, and customer regulations is essential.
- Ability to lift/carry or push/pull a maximum of 50 pounds, along with the capacity to stand, sit, bend, and walk for extended periods.
