Job description:
The primary responsibility of the Medical Scribe is to support the physician by accurately documenting each patient’s medical chart during their consultation. The physician will introduce the Medical Scribe to the patient, clarifying their role in documenting the care provided.

Essential Functions:
– Accompany the physician into the patient examination room to transcribe the patient’s history, physical examination, and procedures as articulated by the physician during the consultation.
– Ensure all entries in the medical record are appropriately signed and dated, clearly indicating the role of Medical Scribe.
– Monitor the status and results of laboratory tests, x-rays, and other evaluations conducted on patients.
– Communicate effectively and efficiently with physicians and mid-level providers within the practice, demonstrating adherence to Corewell Health Standards.
– Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of the physical, intellectual, psycho-social, and developmental needs of each age group served while maintaining a safe care environment and acknowledging specific safety considerations.
– Demonstrate the Corewell Health Standards in all job-related activities.
– Display courteous behavior, provide clear instructions, maintain professional appearance standards, introduce themselves appropriately to patients, and treat all patients with dignity and respect.
– Perform front office duties to ensure coverage as needed.
– Exemplify exceptional customer service skills that support the model of patient- and family-centered care.

Qualifications:
Required:
– High School Diploma or equivalent.
– Extensive experience with Medical Terminology.

Preferred:
– Experience in a healthcare setting.
