Job description:
GENERAL SUMMARY
– Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
– Hospital: Ascension Medical Group
– Location: Southfield, MI
– The role involves providing exceptional customer service in an administrative and clerical capacity within a medical environment.
– Responsibilities include greeting patients and visitors, managing the check-in and check-out processes, and ensuring all necessary documentation is obtained. Additionally, you will verify and enter demographic information accurately.
– You will obtain and verify insurance authorizations and precertifications, complete medical record release requests, and assist in scheduling and confirming patient appointments.
– Daily responsibilities also include entering, reviewing, and submitting charges for patient procedures and services, as well as collecting co-payments and reconciling daily reports and deposits for accuracy.
– The position requires providing general office and clerical support to the assigned area.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
– A High School diploma or equivalent is required. Alternatively, one year of applicable cumulative job-specific experience is acceptable.
