Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Trim and/or remove trees, branches, and trunk sections.
- Operate and service all necessary tools and equipment.
- Cut and split large debris into manageable pieces.
- Spray areas with equipment to inhibit further growth.
- Load and unload trucks.
- Feed brush and debris into a wood chipper.
- Repair minor job-related damage to lawns, fences, and walkways.
- Service gasoline, air, and hand-powered tools and other equipment.
- Relay hand signals, direct traffic, and operate trucks and equipment as assigned.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Safeguard employees and the public from hazards in and around the work area.
- Collaborate with customers, police, and fire departments when obstructing streets or driveways.
- Set up barriers, warning signs, flags, and markers to protect employees and the public.
- Receive training to perform tree and bucket rescues.
- Assist in training new employees.
- Ensure the inspection and proper working condition of all tools, trucks, and equipment.
- Request repairs or replacements when necessary.
- Maintain good housekeeping on the truck and at work locations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisors.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must not have a fear of heights.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination is essential.
- Capable of walking, climbing, and working from ladders at various heights, on uneven and slippery surfaces, while handling equipment or materials in mentally and physically demanding conditions.
- Proficient in working with hands above head for extended periods.
Education & Experience:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- This is an entry-level position; no prior experience is required.
- Previous experience is considered a plus.
Pre-Screen Requirements:
- Candidates may be required to complete and successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check, and/or MVR check upon acceptance of an offer.
License & Certifications:
- A valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is required.
Travel Requirements:
- Candidates must have their own transportation to and from the designated work location.
