Job description:
Perform and review the preparation of reagents, samples, and standards in accordance with established procedures. Conduct and review routine, non-routine, and complex analyses, including instrumental analyses, while managing calibration and troubleshooting or repairing instruments independently. Demonstrate proficiency in reading and understanding analytical procedures, including both compendial and client-supplied documents, as well as internal standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Support the onboarding of new instrumentation by performing and reviewing Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ), and Performance Qualification (PQ) data or qualifications. Exhibit strong technical writing skills and the ability to conduct investigations autonomously. Process and review data, generate and review reports, and evaluate analytical results.
Propose and implement improvements to laboratory processes to enhance quality and productivity, while actively supporting and driving Lean initiatives. Identify opportunities for speaking engagements or publications and assist in the pursuit of these opportunities for both internal and external audiences. Participate in diagnosing issues, resolving simple problems, and offering solutions for more complex challenges within the professional domain.
The ideal candidate will possess strong technical writing skills and the capability to conduct independent investigations. A commitment to maintaining a neat, clean, and organized workspace is essential, along with the ability to communicate effectively with client staff members. Proficiency in performing necessary calculations related to test methods is required, as well as the ability to utilize computers for information access, calculations, and report preparation.
Candidates must have hands-on laboratory experience, with specific expertise in the United States Pharmacopeia (USP) standards for Sterility Testing (USP <71>) and Bacterial Endotoxin Testing (USP <85>). Additional experience in antimicrobial efficacy testing (USP <51>) and microbial limits testing (USP <60>, <61>, <62>) is highly valued.
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, or a related field, along with a minimum of five years of laboratory experience.
This full-time position requires availability Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM, with the potential for additional hours as necessary.
