As a Senior Automotive Mechanic, you will play a pivotal role in modifying vehicles in a prototype environment, executing a diverse range of diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance tasks. You will also mentor and guide team members in achieving technical deliverables that meet Roush’s stringent standards and client expectations. This position is based in Livonia, MI.
Key responsibilities for the Senior Automotive Mechanic include:
– Ensuring vehicles are in optimal functional condition by working from repair orders or team leader directives and conducting thorough inspections.
– Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical system malfunctions, as well as replacing necessary parts and components.
– Effectively reading, interpreting, and adhering to service procedures.
– Mentoring, coaching, and training team members regarding their job responsibilities, serving as a subject matter expert to support both the team and our customers.
– Maintaining accurate vehicle records by documenting notes, services performed, and repair orders.
– Ensuring shop equipment operates efficiently by following operating instructions, troubleshooting issues, performing preventive maintenance, and coordinating repairs as needed.
– Leading efforts in daily shop organization and cleanliness.
To be considered for the Senior Automotive Mechanic position, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
– A high school diploma or equivalent.
– A minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience as a mechanic.
– Extensive knowledge of mechanical assembly and proficiency in operating shop equipment.
