Job description:

UniFirst is seeking an ambitious and customer-oriented Route Trainee to become a valuable member of our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to the Service Department by assisting Route Service Representatives with loading and unloading trucks, delivering and picking up customer products, maintaining vehicle safety, and covering assigned routes as necessary. When filling in for Route Service Representatives, you will operate a company vehicle, traveling to and from customer stops along designated routes. This position involves a mix of indoor and outdoor work and requires a physical presence. Routes are scheduled during daytime hours, Monday through Friday, as we believe in reserving nights and weekends for personal and family time.

What you will be doing:

  • Delivering exceptional customer service through effective communication and resolution of customer issues.
  • Ensuring accuracy in invoice inventories.
  • Conducting inventory audits.
  • Maintaining route vehicle reports, safety inspections, and overall vehicle appearance.
  • Participating in daily account collections with the Route Service Manager and assisting with accounts receivable collections.

Qualifications
We are looking for individuals who meet the following criteria:

  • At least 21 years of age
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to meet pre-employment DOT physical requirements
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Strong communication and language skills
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Prior experience in customer service, route sales, delivery, and/or entrepreneurial roles is preferred
