As an Assistant Store Manager at Family Dollar, your primary responsibility will be to deliver outstanding customer service. You will support the Store Manager in the daily operations of the store, ensuring efficient management of inventories, a well-maintained store appearance, and accurate completion of daily paperwork.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
– Greet and assist customers with a friendly demeanor, addressing inquiries and resolving concerns.
– Maintain a consistent presence on the sales floor to enhance customer service.
– Ensure the store is clean, well-stocked, and welcoming to customers.
– Under the guidance of the Store Manager, supervise, train, and nurture the development of Store Associates in accordance with Family Dollar operational standards.
– Assist with unloading merchandise from delivery trucks, organizing stock, and transferring products from the stockroom to the sales floor.
– Aid the Store Manager with ordering merchandise and performing record-keeping tasks, including payroll, scheduling, and cash register processes.
– Support loss prevention strategies alongside the Store Manager.
– Assume select managerial responsibilities in the absence of the Store Manager.
– Adhere to all company policies and procedures.

Position Requirements:
– Education: Completion of high school or equivalent preferred. Ability to read, interpret, and convey operational directives (e.g., merchandise schematics) is essential.
– Experience: Previous store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environments is highly preferred.
– Physical Requirements: Capable of regularly lifting up to 40 lbs. (occasionally, up to 55 lbs.) from floor to above shoulder height; must be able to meet the physical demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation.
– Availability: Flexibility to work a full-time schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
