Position Overview:
As a Facilities Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the maintenance of property grounds, public areas, and hotel guest rooms. Your contributions will align with Suburban Inns’ Core Values and brand standards, as you strive to deliver an exceptional experience for our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet guests warmly and engage with them to ensure they feel welcome and valued.
- Conduct regular walk-arounds of the property to identify and address issues promptly, including cleaning up trash and used towels, and monitoring for safety and security concerns. Report any significant problems to the appropriate department or General Manager.
- Maintain a list of parts suppliers and manage the ordering of necessary maintenance items while adhering to the company budget to minimize equipment downtime and revenue loss. Seek approval for any high-cost items from the General Manager.
- Utilize Quore to document maintenance issues accurately, tracking both pending tasks and completed work orders.
- Oversee daily inspections of the swimming pool/spa and water filtration system to ensure health compliance, and maintain cleanliness of the pool/spa area.
- Safeguard property security through the management of master keys and ensuring all security systems, such as cameras and locks, are functioning properly.
- Keep required documents on file, including county and state mandated pool and spa records, boiler certifications, and elevator inspections.
- Assist in the functionality checks of fire protection systems and train personnel on proper usage.
- Perform minor maintenance tasks such as painting, drywall repair, minor electrical work, plumbing repairs, and assist with lawn care and snow removal.
- Troubleshoot and repair kitchen and laundry equipment as well as HVAC systems, as per your level of expertise.
- Respond promptly to guest complaints or issues in accordance with Suburban Inns’ standards.
- Support the hotel and restaurant’s ongoing preventative maintenance programs.
- Promote effective communication among all hotel departments.
- Operate company vehicles and heavy machinery, including lawn care and snow removal equipment, as necessary.
- Adhere to all Suburban Inns processes and maintain a reliable attendance record.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Position Requirements:
- Minimum Knowledge: Ability to interpret information and perform arithmetic functions. Proficient in typing and basic computer skills, with strong record-keeping abilities and effective communication skills.
- Formal Education and Experience: A minimum of one year of job-related experience is required.
- Certifications: Completion of Hazcom Training and Lock-Out/Tag-Out certification is required.
- A valid driver’s license with an excellent driving record is necessary.
Work Schedule:
The position requires a flexible schedule, including day, evening, night, holiday, and weekend assignments, which may vary based on business needs.
