Job description:

Canyon Equities is a professional services team dedicated to supporting several companies, including Custer, CS Erickson, and FastSigns. We provide essential resources across several key functional areas, including Information Technology, Finance, and Human Resources, as well as financial support services.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing and processing incoming payments, ensuring that transactions are completed in a timely and accurate manner, while also ensuring that remittances are properly coded and allocated.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Verify and record payments received by the company, reconcile balances, and maintain accurate records.
  • Prepare regular reports on account status, aging reports, and collection activities for management review.
  • Monitor Accounts Receivable and collections processes.
  • Reconcile daily and monthly deposits.
  • Post journal entries and reconcile general ledger accounts as necessary.
  • Process monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Assist with month-end closing activities.
  • Generate and distribute invoices to clients or customers, ensuring all pertinent information is accurate and complete.
  • Create the Daily Activity Report (DAR).
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Energetic self-starter with a positive demeanor.
  • Collaborative team player who can also work independently.
  • Strong attention to detail, along with well-developed organizational and communication skills.
  • Understanding of general accounting principles.
  • Excellent communication and customer service capabilities.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to manage sensitive financial information with discretion.

EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting is preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in an accounting role.
