Job description:

Join a dynamic and high-performing acquisition engineering team dedicated to supporting U.S. Air Force acquisition programs. This role is for an Acquisition Electrical Engineer – Technical Lead within the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center. You will leverage your expertise in electrical and avionics engineering to acquire and sustain Air Force weapon systems, subsystems, and product support strategies throughout their life cycles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and manage the design and integration of aircraft avionics components and complex systems across the product life cycle.
  • Plan and review technical strategies, systems integration efforts, requirements verification and validation, technical designs, cost and risk analyses, and overall supportability and effectiveness.
  • Conduct formal and informal presentations, prepare technical reports and documentation, and engage in discussions pertinent to assigned systems.
  • Develop and deliver documentation and presentations for program milestones.
  • Provide evaluations of technical proposals.

Additionally, you may be tasked with various acquisition program office activities, including gathering acquisition program information, conducting planning and analysis for all acquisition phases, aiding in the development of acquisition and sustainment strategies, tracking schedules, implementing contractor performance systems, and maintaining databases. You will also support the creation and integration of risk management plans and strategies and effectively communicate recommendations to higher management both orally and in writing.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET Federal or DoD security clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • A minimum of six (6) years of experience in DOD/USAF acquisition or sustainment related to weapon system avionics or electrical systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a related field.
  • DAWIA Level II certification or higher.
  • Comprehensive understanding of DoD acquisition and sustainment organizations.
  • Experience working in an acquisition program office.
  • Familiarity with the DOD/USAF Acquisition Airworthiness Process.
  • Knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software (e.g., Teamcenter).
  • Self-motivated and proactive with high energy, a drive for excellence, and a results-oriented mindset.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and interact with all organizational levels.
  • Familiarity with documenting and analyzing requirements, specifications, design, build, and testing activities.
