Job Title: Admission Counselor, Admissions, Enrollment Management

Company: University of Cincinnati

Location: Cincinnati, OH

Pay: $44000 – 48000 per year

AI Pay Analysis: The hourly rate of $44,000 to $48,000 per year for the role of “Admission Counselor, Admissions, Enrollment Management” in Cincinnati, OH translates to approximately $21.15 to $23.08 per hour. This compensation range is generally considered to be on the lower end for such positions, as national averages for admission counselors often range between $50,000 and $60,000 annually, depending on experience and institutional funding. While Cincinnati’s cost of living is lower than the national average, compensation should ideally align with both regional standards and the increasing demands of enrollment management roles, suggesting this offering may not be highly competitive within the field.

Job description:
Current University of Cincinnati employees are encouraged to apply internally via SuccessFactors.

Founded in 1819, the University of Cincinnati is recognized as one of the premier urban public research universities in the nation. With a vibrant community of 53,235 students, over 11,000 faculty and staff, and a robust alumni network of more than 350,000, UC merges a Top 35 public research university designation with an innovative campus environment that The New York Times highlights as “the most ambitious campus design program in the country.”

Recent initiatives such as Next Lives Here, the Cincinnati Innovation District—a $100 million investment from JobsOhio—along with three consecutive years of record enrollment, leadership in cooperative education, a dynamic academic health center, and UC’s entry into the Big 12 Conference, signify a period of exceptional momentum for the university. The institution’s annual budget of $1.85 billion and an endowment nearing $1.8 billion further underscore its thriving status.

The Office of Admissions at the University of Cincinnati seeks an enthusiastic and committed Admissions Counselor to guide prospective students through the college application and decision-making process. This position is instrumental in implementing our strategic recruitment plan and fostering strong relationships with potential students to enhance enrollment growth.

This hybrid role comprises two in-office days at our Uptown Campus and three remote workdays, requiring the representative to engage with prospective students at various on-campus and off-campus events, which include high school visits, college fairs, and community outreach initiatives. We are looking for candidates who possess a passion for higher education and are eager to either start or advance their career in admissions and higher education. If you are organized, self-motivated, and ready to make a meaningful contribution to the future of the University of Cincinnati, we invite you to apply.

Essential Functions:
– Manage a designated geographic territory to achieve enrollment goals efficiently and effectively. Act as the primary contact for stakeholders in that area, developing and executing initiatives to best serve students and local organizations. Make informed, data-driven decisions to coordinate travel and outreach strategies.
– Travel extensively during critical recruitment periods (8-10 weeks in the fall and 1-3 weeks in the spring), and work on evenings and weekends as necessary to fulfill responsibilities, including organizing campus visit events. Leverage knowledge of students and organizations to assist and encourage prospective students throughout the application and enrollment cycle.
– Enhance representation from strategic populations based on the demographics of the assigned territory, such as under-represented, high-achieving, transfer, out-of-state, and international students.
– Clearly communicate university admissions policies and, if applicable, oversee specialized programmatic areas such as on-campus and off-campus events, student tour guide programs, tele-counseling, campus visits, outreach initiatives, high-achieving scholars, and various communications platforms.
– Evaluate applications for admission, making holistic decisions based on multiple data points while ensuring accuracy and consistency to align with the university’s enrollment objectives. Utilize a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to track records, prepare reports, and analyze data for strategic planning and assessment purposes. Perform additional duties as assigned based on departmental needs. This job description may be subject to change.
