Job Summary: The role of the PK Teacher’s Aide is to provide essential support to the classroom teacher, ensuring an effective and nurturing educational environment for young learners.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning and implementation of daily programs under the guidance of the classroom teacher.
- Collaborate in the preparation and organization of the learning environment, including setting up interest centers and ensuring necessary materials and supplies are readily available.
- Supervise children during both the teacher’s presence in the classroom and during their absence.
- Contribute to general housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and orderly environment.
- Maintain records of the periodic cleaning of cots, materials, and furnishings.
- Support the teacher in various capacities as needed to enhance classroom activities.
- Uphold a professional demeanor and represent the school positively at all times.
- Comply with the systems, policies, and procedures established by the Head of School and/or Preschool Administrator.
- Participate in workshops, seminars, and conferences as directed by supervisor.
- Acquire the Ohio Educational Aide Permit prior to the start date if a teaching license is not held.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of a high school diploma is required; an Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education is preferred.
- Prior experience working with preschool or elementary-aged children is essential.
- A strong Christian background is required, along with comfort in a multi-denominational Christian community.
