Job description:
Under administrative direction, this position is responsible for planning, managing, and coordinating all activities and personnel, including administration, citizen participation, research, and finance. The role involves developing work rules, providing training, and overseeing staff assigned to specific functions to ensure the effective performance of their duties. Additional job-related responsibilities may be required as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
A High School Diploma or GED is required, along with a Bachelor’s Degree. Candidates must possess a minimum of four years of full-time paid management or administrative experience. (Note: Substitution is permissible, allowing two years of experience to replace each year of required college education). A valid State of Ohio Driver’s License is also required.
Duties & Responsibilities:

Strategic Oversight:
Oversee the Microsoft Windows environment to ensure alignment with the airport’s operational objectives and technological advancements. -
Operational Excellence:
Guarantee the continuous, reliable operation of Windows servers, workstations, and associated components vital to the airport’s daily functions. -
Security Assurance:
Implement robust security measures to protect the integrity and confidentiality of data within the Microsoft Windows environment. -
Performance Optimization:
Proactively enhance the performance of Windows-based systems by employing best practices and leveraging the latest technological advancements. -
Monitoring and Optimization:
Develop and implement comprehensive monitoring solutions for infrastructure resources to identify and address performance issues proactively, ensuring cost efficiency, performance, and scalability. -
Automation and Scripting:
Create scripts and automation tools designed to streamline routine tasks and improve operational efficiency. - Troubleshooting and Support:
Provide troubleshooting and support for a range of technical issues, utilizing a strong analytical and problem-solving skill set.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in science, IT, Business Management, or a closely related field, or a combination of education and relevant work experience totaling four years.
- A minimum of five years of professional experience is essential.
- In-depth knowledge of Windows Server operating systems is required.
- Proficiency in Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy is necessary; experience with virtualization technologies such as Hyper-V and VMware is preferred.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes, is desirable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot complex issues effectively.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, is required.
- A valid State of Ohio Driver License is mandatory.
- Successful completion of a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) 10-year fingerprint-based Criminal History Records Check, an employment background check, and Security Threat Assessment is necessary.
- The candidate must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug test and be capable of lifting and carrying up to thirty-five (35) pounds.
