Job description:
Each Redwood Neighborhood is equipped with an Apartment Maintenance Technician whose primary responsibilities encompass performing routine and general maintenance on the facilities, buildings, and equipment on site, in addition to managing specific groundskeeping tasks. Responsibilities include utilizing various power tools, executing unit turns, and troubleshooting appliances.

This position also emphasizes customer service and effective communication with both residents and colleagues. The Apartment Maintenance Technician is expected to embody the role of a Redwood ambassador, consistently fostering a positive experience for residents and employees alike. Technicians will have access to residents’ homes to fulfill work orders and are expected to handle repairs and communications in a manner that promotes the highest level of resident satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
– Maintain and repair facilities, buildings, and grounds as outlined in work orders.
– Prepare vacated apartment homes for release efficiently and professionally.
– Execute minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and drywall tasks.
– Address minor plumbing repairs, including clearing drains and resolving toilet issues, as well as repairing or replacing water heaters.
– Provide service for kitchen appliances, washers, dryers, and garage issues as required.
– Respond to emergency maintenance requests as part of an on-call emergency schedule.
– Adhere to safety standards at all times.
– Perform snow removal duties.
– Undertake all other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
– A minimum of 1 year of general maintenance experience.
– A valid driver’s license.
– A high school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:
– HVAC Certification.
– Exceptional customer service skills.
– Experience in apartment maintenance.
– Proficiency in operating smartphones, tablets, and computers.

Physical Requirements:
– Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to sit, stand, bend, and walk as needed.
