Job description:

Pay: $28.50 per hour

At Great Wolf, the Aquatics Technician III is responsible for overseeing the daily engineering operations within our upscale hotel environment in the absence of the Assistant Director. This role entails various responsibilities, including project management, general life safety oversight, supervision and scheduling of engineering staff, inventory management, and vendor collaboration. The Aquatics Technician III will also serve as the primary engineering point of contact when necessary. Key duties include performing preventative maintenance and repairs throughout hotel guestrooms, public spaces, equipment, buildings, and grounds. Additionally, this position serves as the Duty Engineer.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct interviews, hire, and train staff; plan, assign, and direct work; evaluate performance; recognize and address employee achievements; resolve complaints and issues.
  • Ensure all tasks are performed safely and efficiently, adhering to safety standards and optimal equipment usage.
  • Maintain current knowledge of departmental safety protocols and participate in required safety training programs and in-service sessions for ongoing professional development.
  • Keep accurate service records for mechanical and structural systems.
  • Inspire and lead staff toward achieving organizational objectives.
  • Oversee maintenance and water treatment operations within the facility.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant local, state, and federal codes and regulations, including OSHA and other applicable standards.
  • Adhere to all standard operating procedures regarding park operations, employee relations, time management, and safety, including the completion of all necessary documentation on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Assist in investigations related to accidents or incidents as needed.
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned by the Director of Engineering.

Requirements:

  • Technical degree in a relevant field.
  • Completion of technical training.
  • Relevant trade certifications.
  • Experience in the hospitality, healthcare, or a related industry.
  • A minimum of one year in an engineering supervisory role in a full-service setting, ideally within a hotel or healthcare facility, or three years as an Engineer II demonstrating leadership capabilities.
  • Trade-related certifications in HVAC and/or Electrical are preferred.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including database software, internet applications, order processing systems, and the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Valid driver’s license.
