Job description:
Asplundh is seeking a qualified Capital Transmission Trimmer/Operator Foreperson to join our team. This full-time, non-exempt position offers a starting pay rate of $51.13 per hour, accompanied by a comprehensive benefits and wage package.

Essential Functions:
- Coordinate and assign daily work for the crew based on directives received from a General Foreperson or Line Clearance Supervisor.
- Conduct field training and retraining, instructing the crew on new or updated job units.
- Enforce safe work practices in alignment with experience, judgment, company policy, and OSHA regulations.
- Conduct safety training per company policies and procedures.
- Address property owner/customer concerns regarding access, potential power interruptions, and work responsibilities.
- Acquire necessary permissions from property owners to perform required work.
- Foster and maintain positive customer and public relations through effective completion of work and appropriate crew behavior.
- Investigate and address incident reports and minor damage claims as delegated.
- Maintain accurate records, timesheets, and reports related to crew operations.
- Control crew-related costs through effective utilization of personnel, work methods, and equipment operation.
- Provide reports to the General Foreperson and utility representatives detailing completed orders, units of work, crew hours, minor damages, and repairs.
- Prepare periodic reports regarding incidents, equipment breakdowns, and follow-up on new employees.
- Collaborate with customers, police, and fire departments when blocking streets or driveways.
- Set up barriers, warning signs, flags, and markers to protect employees and the public from hazards. In emergencies, take appropriate action to mitigate risks to life and property.
- Inspect tools, trucks, and other equipment for necessary repairs or maintenance.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area and on the vehicle.
- Ensure compliance with DOT maintenance and inspection requirements for all vehicles.
- Stay informed regarding new equipment, industry standards, operating procedures, and company policies.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Proficiency in reading and understanding drawings and symbols representing lines, voltages, and line equipment.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Effective organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to adjust to field demands and act independently with minimal supervision.
- Capability to drive a company vehicle safely.
- Possess the ability to work with hands above head for extended durations.
- No fear of heights.
- Willingness to join the union.

Education & Experience:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
Pre-Screen:

Licenses & Certifications:
- A valid driver’s license is required.
- A valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) is preferred.
- DOT Medical Card is required.
Physical Requirements:
- RARE (less than 10%): sitting, kneeling, crawling, color vision, climbing stairs.
- OCCASIONAL (up to 33%): stooping, squatting, climbing on/off trucks, pushing, climbing ladders, lifting up to 50 lbs.
