Job description:
The Assistant Club Manager will play a key role in supporting the oversight of gym operations, ensuring an outstanding “Judgement Free” environment for members while contributing to the financial success of the club.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

– Collaborate in the recruitment, hiring, training, and development of a high-performing staff, including Member Service Representatives, Trainers, and Custodians.
– Foster a welcoming atmosphere for all members, prospective members, and guests, ensuring that staff adhere to exceptional customer service standards.
– Provide support in staff management and serve as a backup to the Club Manager as required.
– Assist in scheduling and supervising staff effectively.
– Oversee member service to guarantee that staff consistently deliver an exceptional customer experience.
– Aid in the resolution or escalation of employee-related issues or concerns.
– Engage in front desk operations, which include:
– Responding to phone inquiries in a friendly manner and addressing a variety of questions.
– Checking members into the system efficiently.
– Facilitating new member sign-ups.
– Conducting tours for prospective members.
– Attending to all member requests, issues, and inquiries.
– Support the maintenance of cleanliness and operational standards within the facility.
– Assist in the procurement of supplies, adhering to specific budgeting parameters based on club needs.
– Track and report statistics regularly (weekly, monthly, and annually).
– Provide backup assistance for any employee who is absent.

Qualifications/Requirements:

– Exceptional customer service skills, ideally within the fitness industry.
– Experience as a Member Service Representative at Planet Fitness is preferred.
– Strong supervisory, diplomatic, and active listening abilities.
– Proficiency in basic computer applications (Microsoft Suite and Apple).
– A diligent, enthusiastic, and energetic attitude.
– Effective problem-resolution capabilities.
– Current CPR Certification is preferred.
– Tanning Operator Certification is preferred.
– High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
– Applicant must be 18 years of age or older.

Physical Demands:

– Continuous standing and walking during the shift.
– Regular verbal communication in person and over the phone.
– Capability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
– Ability to dilute and use cleaning and sanitization chemicals.
