Job description:

Catawba Island Club (CIC) is excited to welcome a dedicated Assistant Dining Operations Supervisor to our team, where we prioritize creating exceptional experiences for our members through private dining and a variety of events, including weddings, corporate meetings, and celebrations. This role involves assisting in the supervision and execution of a la carte dining service, special events, and banquets, while consistently delivering outstanding customer service to our esteemed members and their guests.

Experience and Requirements:

  • Prior experience in food and beverage or hospitality is essential.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a degree in hospitality or a related field is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in both spoken and written English is required.
  • Candidates must meet the legal age requirement to serve alcohol.
  • Strong organizational skills are necessary for effectively coordinating multiple activities.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Lead each shift with enthusiasm and a positive demeanor for the CIC team.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with CIC members and their guests by providing a warm and welcoming greeting.
  • Collaborate with Operations Managers to arrange dining room and event setups.
  • Ensure dining and banquet rooms are organized and maintained to managerial standards.
  • Oversee catering and special events, including equipment setup, food transport, and buffet/plating.
  • Provide support to servers and bartenders during a la carte service.
  • Ensure the accuracy of all server opening and closing duties, conducting a final walk-through in dining and banquet rooms.
  • Promptly report any maintenance needs to the head of maintenance.

Minimum Physical Job Requirements:

  • Ability to remain mobile for periods exceeding four hours.
  • Capability to lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and shifts exceeding 10 hours.
