As an Assistant Executive Housekeeper, you will support the Executive Housekeeper in overseeing the operations of the housekeeping and laundry departments, ensuring adherence to Suburban Inns’ core values and brand standards. You will play a pivotal role in achieving guest satisfaction and may assume responsibility in the absence of the Executive Housekeeper.

Essential Functions:

  • Welcome all guests with a friendly and positive demeanor, fostering personal connections to ensure they feel valued and appreciated.
  • Train Housekeeping and Laundry team members as necessary.
  • Hold team members accountable to Suburban Inns’ employment and performance standards.
  • Administer disciplinary actions to team members in accordance with Suburban Inns’ policies as needed.
  • Ensure housekeepers meet productivity standards, completing a minimum of two rooms per hour, while maintaining quality.
  • Perform the following in the Executive Housekeeper’s absence or as required:
    • Generate daily housekeeping task sheets and assign duties to scheduled housekeepers, noting late checkouts and additional tasks.
    • Safeguard all lost and found items promptly, retaining them for a minimum of 90 days.
    • Input all cleaned rooms into the computer system for tracking purposes.
    • Maintain consistent communication with the front desk to address early departures, late checkouts, and other related concerns.
    • Assist in cleaning guest rooms, public areas, and laundry as necessary, upholding Suburban Inns and brand standards.
    • Inspect all rooms that are due to ensure cleanliness surpasses established standards.
    • Promptly address any housekeeping issues found during inspections, offering guidance as needed.
    • Identify safety and maintenance concerns and report them to the appropriate department.
    • Communicate any special room issues (e.g., damage, smoking, pets) to the Guest Service Manager, Assistant General Manager, or General Manager for appropriate action.
    • Address team member inquiries and issues efficiently and professionally, relaying concerns to the Executive Housekeeper.
    • Ensure compliance with Suburban Inns and brand standards at all times.
    • Facilitate the prompt organization and stocking of delivery items in storage areas.
    • Maintain orderly storage rooms and notify the Executive Housekeeper of any supply needs.
    • Consistently demonstrate reliable attendance.
    • Adhere to all Suburban Inns processes.
    • Familiarize yourself with additional job descriptions related to Executive Housekeeper, Housekeeper, Laundry, and Public Areas Attendant roles.
    • Execute other responsibilities as assigned by management.

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum Knowledge: Ability to interpret and extract information, perform arithmetic functions, and demonstrate basic computer proficiency. Strong communication skills are essential.
  • Education and Experience: A minimum of six months of job-related experience is required.
  • Licenses, Training, and Certifications: Completion of Hazcom and Bloodborne Pathogen Training is required.
  • Work Schedule: Regularly varies to include day, evening, night, holiday, and weekend shifts based on business needs.
