We are currently seeking a full-time Assistant Executive Housekeeper to assist the Executive Housekeeper in managing the overall operations of the housekeeping and laundry departments. This role is vital in upholding Suburban Inns’ Core Values and brand standards while ensuring that our guests experience complete satisfaction. Additionally, the Assistant Executive Housekeeper will be empowered to take charge in the absence of the Executive Housekeeper.

Compensation and Schedule:

  • Starting Wage: $17.50 per hour, contingent on experience, with an additional $2 premium for weekend shifts.
  • Shift: 1st shift with some weekend availability required.

Essential Functions:

  • Welcome all guests warmly and foster personal connections to enhance their experience.
  • Train and oversee Housekeepers and Laundry Team Members as necessary.
  • Hold team members accountable to the employment standards and performance expectations established by Suburban Inns and brand guidelines.
  • Administer disciplinary actions in accordance with Suburban Inns’ policies when required.
  • Ensure that housekeepers complete a minimum of two rooms per hour while maintaining the high standards of Suburban Inns.
  • In the Executive Housekeeper’s absence, responsibilities will include:
    • Preparing daily housekeeping task sheets and assigning them to scheduled housekeepers, taking into account any late checkouts, as well as assigning hallways and additional tasks.
    • Collecting and managing lost and found items, ensuring they are stored for a minimum of 90 days.
    • Logging all cleaned rooms into the computer system.
    • Maintaining regular communication with the front desk regarding early departures, late checkouts, and other guest needs.
    • Assisting with cleaning rooms, public areas, and laundry per Suburban Inns and brand standards.
    • Inspecting all outgoing rooms to confirm cleanliness exceeds expectations.
    • Addressing any identified issues with rooms immediately, providing guidance to housekeepers when necessary.
    • Reporting safety concerns and maintenance issues to the relevant department.
    • Notifying the Guest Service Manager, AGM, or GM about any special room concerns (e.g., damage, smoke, pets) for appropriate charge application.
    • Resolving team member issues and concerns promptly and professionally while keeping the Executive Housekeeper informed.
    • Ensuring compliance with all Suburban Inns and brand operational standards at all times.
    • Organizing and promptly storing deliveries to maintain fully stocked storage areas.
    • Keeping storage rooms orderly and alerting the Executive Housekeeper when supplies need replenishing.
    • Demonstrating regular and consistent attendance.
    • Adhering to all Suburban Inns procedures.
    • Performing additional duties as requested by management.

Position Requirements:

  • Knowledge: Ability to interpret information, perform basic arithmetic functions, and possess foundational computer skills, record-keeping capabilities, and effective communication skills.
  • Experience: A minimum of six months of job-related experience is required.
  • Certification: Completion of Hazcom Training and Bloodborne Pathogen Training is necessary.
