Overview:
The Assistant General Manager contributes to a high-performance gym environment by working closely with the General Manager to oversee all operational aspects of the facility. This role is vital in the training, development, and supervision of the Member Service Representative (MSR) team, with a primary focus on delivering an exceptional member experience that aligns with Crunch brand standards.
Responsibilities:
– Assist in the recruitment, hiring, training, and development of high-performing team members to ensure optimal staffing at all times.
– Monitor staff performance against established KPIs to meet or exceed expectations.
– Set a positive example by achieving personal and team performance goals.
– Manage team member performance standards through continuous development, training, and coaching.
– Support the General Manager in various operational areas, including:
– Scheduling and labor management
– Resolving member service issues with empathy and efficiency
– Addressing or escalating employee matters as necessary
– Leading generation and outreach initiatives to drive new member sales
– Facilitating new member acquisition and smooth integration into available services and programs
– Establishing team member goals, development plans, and conducting regular staff meetings
– Supervise club asset management, which includes inventory reconciliation, supply ordering, and oversight of minor equipment expenditures
– Oversee all front desk and Kid’s Crunch activities
– Ensure a clean facility and appropriate maintenance of equipment
– Manage the Daily Cleaning Checklist and oversee facility/equipment work order processes
– Utilize Crunch-specific tools for communication, documentation, and support of overall club operations, including incident reporting, facility standards, internal communications, and process integration
– Maintain consistent compliance with all Crunch policies, procedures, and service standards.
Requirements:
– A minimum of 2 years of management experience in a fitness facility and/or customer service-oriented environment
– Proven track record of executing objectives efficiently and effectively managing key KPIs
– Experience in leading and supervising team members is preferred
– CPR/AED certification required (can be obtained within the first 30 days of employment)
– Knowledge of labor control, recommended staffing levels, and overtime management
– Strong communication skills, demonstrating clarity and confidence.
Reporting Structure:
– Reports directly to the General Manager.
– Collaborates with the Fit Fusion management team.
