POSITION SUMMARY:
The successful candidate will engage in a variety of professional responsibilities and supervisory tasks related to the management of COTA’s Operations Facilities, Transit Centers, Park-N-Rides, and Bus Stops. This role involves providing oversight and support for the operational systems of the Facilities and managing external vendors associated with Facilities operations. The position will support Facilities Managers as assigned and will be responsible for managing COTA Facility Union staff while coordinating Facilities Operations with other relevant departments. Additionally, the role will involve executing other duties that align with the COTA Strategic Plan and support the organization’s mission to Move Every Life Forward.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
– Provide assistance for special event requests, including coordination of vehicles, equipment, provisions, and personnel for events requested by legal, planning, human resources, and training departments.
– Ensure that all grant-funded non-revenue equipment is maintained in accordance with Federal Transit Administration regulations and that warranties for new equipment are properly upheld.
– Track labor and maintenance operations for Facilities using asset management technology, while conducting regular inspections on each bus route to ensure a safe and clean environment for the public.
– Assist in the development, maintenance, and analysis of COTA Preventative Maintenance systems to meet or surpass OEM standards.
– Create preventative maintenance programs and budgets; maintain schedules and logs for all COTA facilities and equipment, incorporating maintenance and cleaning records.
– Monitor open purchase orders related to subcontractors, capital projects, and test products, while overseeing the work of on-site contractor personnel.
– Ensure 24-hour on-call coverage of COTA facilities and properties for emergency situations, including repairs for water and/or gas leaks, snow removal, and EPA releases.
– Foster positive labor relations by effectively counseling and disciplining employees in a fair and equitable manner, thereby maximizing productivity and enhancing employee morale through sound communication practices.
MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
– An Associate’s Degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
– A minimum of two (2) years of experience in construction, maintenance, or a related field.
– An equivalent combination of education and experience in business or public administration will also be taken into account.
LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS:
– Experience or relevant training/certifications in Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) fueling and HVAC equipment.
– Preferred certifications in life safety equipment.
– Preferred educational certifications in electrical systems for commercial buildings.
– Preferred certification in Building Automation Systems (BAS).
