As an Assistant Store Manager at Family Dollar, you will play a vital role in delivering outstanding service to our customers. A primary focus of your position will be assisting the Store Manager in managing daily store operations. You will also be responsible for overseeing inventory management, ensuring store presentation, and completing daily administrative tasks, all under the guidance of the Store Manager.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Greet and assist customers in a friendly and approachable manner, addressing inquiries and resolving concerns.
  • Maintain a visible presence on the sales floor to provide excellent customer service.
  • Ensure the store is clean, well-organized, and adequately stocked for customers.
  • Assist the Store Manager in supervising, training, and developing Store Associates in alignment with Family Dollar’s operating practices.
  • Help with unloading merchandise from delivery trucks, organizing product displays, and transferring items from the stockroom to the sales floor.
  • Support the Store Manager with ordering merchandise and maintaining accurate records related to payroll, scheduling, and cash register transactions.
  • Contribute to loss prevention initiatives alongside the Store Manager.
  • Assume certain managerial responsibilities in the Store Manager’s absence.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.

Position Requirements:

  • Education: Preferred completion of high school or equivalent. Proficient in reading, interpreting, and communicating operational directives (e.g., merchandise schematics).
