Job Summary
The Co-Manager will assist the Store Manager and Manager in Training in recruiting, hiring, training, and managing store personnel. This role aims to achieve both store and individual sales goals, manage expenses, and safeguard company assets.
Essential Job Functions
- Meet and exceed personal and store sales goals and performance standards
- Aid in the recruitment and hiring process for high-caliber employees to meet store needs
- Assist in training and developing a successful sales team
- Provide feedback, coaching, and enforce accountability among employees by adhering to company policies and practices
- Ensure that all company initiatives are effectively implemented according to established guidelines
- Identify and nurture talented staff for growth opportunities within the company
- Supervise and manage daily store operations in the absence of the Store Manager and Manager in Training
- Oversee all aspects of Loss Prevention practices during the absence of Store Manager and Manager in Training
- Communicate effectively all store needs to Store Manager and Manager in Training
- Resolve customer issues effectively and efficiently
- Deliver an engaging, full-service experience to all customers
- Complete bank deposits as required
- Understand and exemplify the Journeys culture to the team
Job Requirements
- Prior retail management experience is preferred
- 6-12 months of retail sales experience required
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- A desire to succeed in a fast-paced retail environment
- Willingness to learn and adapt
- Completion of all training programs leading to the Co-Manager position, or equivalent training
- Ability to work up to 45 hours per week
- Availability for night and weekend shifts
- Ability to climb, reach, bend, and lift items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Capability to stand for prolonged periods
- Must be at least 18 years of age*
