Job description:

We are currently seeking qualified candidates for on-call Associate positions in our "Catering to You" program, with immediate hiring opportunities.

Location: American Electric Power – 1 Riverside Plaza, Columbus, OH 43215. Please note that applications will only be accepted online.

Schedule: This position operates on an on-call basis, with varying days and hours. Detailed scheduling information will be provided during the interview.

Requirements: While previous server experience is preferred, it is not mandatory.

Job Summary: You will be responsible for providing patient food service on assigned units, which includes menu selections, tray assembly, tray delivery and pick-up, managing special requests, and in-between food delivery.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate effectively with nursing departments, clinical dieticians, and other personnel to deliver outstanding patient services.
  • Introduce the "Catering to You" program to new patients following established procedures.
  • Gather patient menu selections prior to meals, offering alternatives as allowed by prescribed diets while considering food allergies, cultural, ethnic, and religious preferences.
  • Assemble trays according to patient menu specifications and retrieve trays from patient rooms.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory agency standards, including those set forth by federal and state authorities and JCAHO.
  • Uphold confidentiality and adhere to patient rights policies in accordance with the facility’s HIPAA regulations.
  • Follow Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines while handling food, maintaining cleanliness in workstations, and managing the patient tray line.
  • Comply with facility and departmental infection control policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
