Job description:
The General Service Technician is responsible for performing essential automotive services while ensuring a high standard of customer satisfaction. This role requires a mechanical aptitude capable of executing various tasks, including tire mounting and balancing, tire repairs, oil changes, vehicle inspections, and other fundamental services. Additionally, the technician is expected to maintain a clean and safe environment within the tire and service department. There may also be occasions to provide customers with advice on recommended automotive services and repairs for their vehicles.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
– Develop skills in diagnosing and repairing basic automotive systems, including brakes, alignments, suspensions, cooling, and electrical systems.
– Engage in ongoing learning through formal training sessions to stay current with the evolving automotive technology landscape.
– Change engine oil and oil filters.
– Conduct tire maintenance tasks, including installation.
– Install batteries and assess starting and charging systems.
– Replace headlights and other small bulbs.
– Carry out flat tire repairs.
– Install wiper blades as needed.
– Manage inventory by stocking and unloading tires.
– Support technicians and mechanics with technical activities as required.
– Communicate mechanical repair issues to store management as they arise.
– Maintain a clean and organized workshop.
– Comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety and environmental regulations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
– Possession of a valid driver’s license.

– High School Diploma or GED.
