SUMMARY
In this role, you will conduct basic inspections, diagnostics, and mechanical services for automobiles and light trucks, ensuring exceptional customer service and compliance with all safety regulations during the operation of machinery, equipment, and tools. You will manage inventory by requisitioning stock and supplies and assist with facility maintenance.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Operate tire balancing and mounting machines to install and balance tires, repair flats, perform tire rotations, and conduct diagnostic tests for tire wear and vibration.
  • Maintain knowledge of tire product lines to facilitate inventory management, procedural compliance, and shipping and receiving tasks.
  • Conduct lube, oil, and filter (LOF) services as well as visual inspections, including under-the-hood, under-car, and wheel-off assessments.
  • Perform basic removal and replacement functions, including battery and filter installations, wiper blade, headlamp, and small bulb replacements.
  • Utilize appropriate equipment to perform alignments and flush cooling systems, power steering, and transmissions.
  • Carry out basic diagnostics, including identifying noise or vibration issues following road tests.
  • Assist in facility maintenance by adhering to opening and closing procedures, cleaning duties, and general maintenance tasks.

EQUIPMENT/TOOLS
Safely and effectively operate the following equipment: tire machine, tire balancer, lube equipment, flat repair gear, lifts, impact gun, torque wrench, tread depth gauge, grinder/wire wheel, micrometer, flush machines, torches, alignment rack, and all necessary equipment for the Tire & Alignment Technician role.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Minimum training required includes:

  • Basic Services
  • Starting and Charging Systems
  • Automotive and/or tire knowledge and skills
  • Automotive maintenance, removal, and replacement knowledge and skills
  • Basic automotive diagnostic skills

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals. Competence in writing routine reports and correspondence is required.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS and REASONING ABILITY
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Capable of solving practical problems and dealing with a variety of variables in situations where standardization may be limited. Ability to comprehend a range of instructions presented in written, oral, diagram, or schedule formats.
