As a skilled-level technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing and performing repairs across all areas of vehicle maintenance, with specialization in specific repair segments.

Compensation:

  • Average starting salary for individuals with less than 3 years of experience: $35,000 to $50,000 annually.
  • Salary for those with 3 or more years of experience: $50,000 to $80,000 annually.

Schedule:
This full-time position requires a commitment of 40 hours per week. Dealership hours are as follows: Monday and Thursday from 7:30 AM to 8:00 PM; Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM; and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Work schedules will be established in conjunction with your supervisor to ensure that dealership needs are met, with flexibility required to accommodate after-hours work when necessary.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Perform diagnostics and repairs as specified on the repair order, adhering to dealership and factory standards with efficiency and accuracy.
  • Diagnose vehicle issues based on customer complaints and thorough inspections.
  • Collaborate with the parts department to procure necessary components.
  • Preserve and label parts for warranty considerations or upon customer request.
  • Assess vehicles to determine any further safety or service work that may be required.
  • Promptly communicate with the service advisor regarding any additional work needed, unnecessary repairs, or delays in completion time.
  • Document all work performed and recommendations on the repair order.
  • Conduct road tests of vehicles.
  • Engage in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events.
  • Stay informed on manufacturer technical bulletins.
  • Inspect and test-drive newly received vehicles for any visible damage or missing essential components.
  • Install optional equipment as specified by customers or the dealership.
  • Report any machinery malfunctions or defects to the supervisor.
  • Ensure customer vehicles are maintained in a clean condition, immediately notifying the service advisor of any alterations to the vehicle’s appearance or condition.
  • Keep the shop area organized and free of hazards.
  • Maintain accountability for all dealership-owned tools and manuals, ensuring their return in proper condition.
  • Understand and comply with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations, including those related to hazardous waste disposal and OSHA standards.
  • Operate tools and equipment safely and report any safety concerns to management without delay.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • A minimum of two years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Must meet Labadie Auto Company’s insurance eligibility criteria to operate company and customer vehicles.
  • Successfully pass a drug screening.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
