Job description:
We are currently seeking on-call banquet servers to join our team at The Cleveland Marriott East. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where you can expect to earn between $15.00 and $20.00 per hour, dependent on participation in the gratuity pool. It is important to note that candidates must complete an online talent assessment to be considered for this position.
Key responsibilities include:
– Setting up the banquet room according to the directions of the Banquet Captain, ensuring that all linens, serviceware, and glassware are arranged properly.
– Attending roll call meetings prior to events to familiarize yourself with function details, guest expectations, and hotel standards.
– Greeting guests and responding to their requests in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
– Serving food and beverages in accordance with the Banquet Captain’s instructions to maintain consistency throughout the event.
– Promptly clearing dishes as guests finish each course and ensuring that the dining area remains organized.
– Replenishing beverages as needed and checking with guests to ensure their satisfaction.
– Adhering to teamwork principles and maintaining cleanliness throughout service.
– Resetting the banquet room upon completion of events as per the Captain’s specifications to ensure it is prepared for subsequent functions and sanitation standards are met.
– Mandatory attendance at monthly departmental meetings.
Additional qualifications include:
– A proactive approach to resolving guest issues with high concern.
– Willingness to assist other event and restaurant staff as necessary.
– Maintaining constant awareness of safety issues, including broken glass, frayed cords, and other hazards.
– Capability to stand for extended periods, up to 9 hours.
– Ability to lift and carry trays and banquet items weighing up to 40 pounds.
