Job description:

The Banquet Attendant will play a vital role in the smooth execution of banquet functions by overseeing the set-up and clean-up processes, while also monitoring assigned sections to ensure exemplary service for all guests. This position offers a variety of shifts that include evenings and weekends.

Qualifications:

  • Three to six months of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to manage challenging customer situations effectively, responding promptly to their needs and requests for service.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Deliver the highest quality service to guests in a warm and enthusiastic manner at all times.
  • Conduct thorough cleaning of banquet areas before, during, and after events, including vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, polishing, and wiping down surfaces.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety in all banquet areas.
  • Ensure that all banquet rooms are cleared and securely locked at the conclusion of events and the workday.
  • Properly store all equipment in designated areas.
  • Greet guests upon their arrival and remain present in the banquet room.
  • Uphold hotel and banquet standards in food and beverage service and quality guest service.
  • Provide menu information, address inquiries, and take food and beverage orders from guests.
  • Prepare food in accordance with established recipes.
  • Assist with food production based on menu selections and the number of guests being served.
  • Monitor service tables in assigned sections to ensure all guests receive prompt attention.
  • Clear and clean tables, ensuring counters and tables are reset efficiently.
  • Keep kitchen and wait station areas tidy, clean, and fully stocked at the end of each shift.
  • Accurately report tips for tax processing.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Access back-of-house areas of the hotel and sensitive information responsibly.
