Job description:
The Banquet Attendant will play a vital role in the smooth execution of banquet functions by overseeing the set-up and clean-up processes, while also monitoring assigned sections to ensure exemplary service for all guests. This position offers a variety of shifts that include evenings and weekends.
Qualifications:
- Three to six months of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.
- Strong interpersonal skills to manage challenging customer situations effectively, responding promptly to their needs and requests for service.
- A commitment to maintaining professionalism and treating all individuals with respect, regardless of their status or position.
- Familiarity with company policies and procedures, with the ability to interpret and enforce them appropriately.
- Knowledge of safety and security protocols, including the responsibility to report any potentially unsafe conditions and utilize equipment and materials correctly.

Job Responsibilities:
- Deliver the highest quality service to guests in a warm and enthusiastic manner at all times.
- Conduct thorough cleaning of banquet areas before, during, and after events, including vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, polishing, and wiping down surfaces.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety in all banquet areas.
- Ensure that all banquet rooms are cleared and securely locked at the conclusion of events and the workday.
- Properly store all equipment in designated areas.
- Greet guests upon their arrival and remain present in the banquet room.
- Uphold hotel and banquet standards in food and beverage service and quality guest service.
- Provide menu information, address inquiries, and take food and beverage orders from guests.
- Prepare food in accordance with established recipes.
- Assist with food production based on menu selections and the number of guests being served.
- Monitor service tables in assigned sections to ensure all guests receive prompt attention.
- Clear and clean tables, ensuring counters and tables are reset efficiently.
- Keep kitchen and wait station areas tidy, clean, and fully stocked at the end of each shift.
- Accurately report tips for tax processing.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Access back-of-house areas of the hotel and sensitive information responsibly.
- Maintain professional interaction with guests and colleagues, including some unsupervised contact.
- Control access to sensitive areas, including Master Keys, guestrooms, and the storage/luncheon room.
- Manage a high level of trust and responsibility while representing the company with good character and sound judgment.
