Status: Part-time, 20 hours per week.
Schedule: Monday to Sunday; every other weekend is required.
Shift: 5:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Location: Butterworth Hospital, 100 Michigan St., Grand Rapids, MI
Compensation: $16 per hour.

Job Summary
The Barista will be responsible for the preparation of a diverse range of complex beverage recipes utilizing a variety of ingredients, adhering to standardized protocols. This position entails working in a dynamic, high-volume environment while utilizing specialized kitchen equipment. The successful candidate will possess the ability to identify noncompliant ingredients or finished products and address quality control issues promptly. Maintaining safety and sanitation standards in the workspace is vital, alongside delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Essential Functions

  • Prepare a variety of intricate beverage recipes from complex combinations of ingredients, strictly following standardized recipes.
  • Retain knowledge of beverage ingredients, measurements, and recipes.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment.
  • Execute multiple tasks effectively, including recipe production, cash handling, stocking, and maintaining cleanliness.
  • Operate and clean specialized kitchen equipment, troubleshoot issues, and escalate problems when necessary.
  • Identify and rectify any noncompliant ingredients or finished products to uphold established quality standards.
  • Prepare for semi-annual health department and external regulatory inspections.
  • Provide personalized customer service by demonstrating thorough knowledge of products and accurately fulfilling specific customer requests.
  • Implement effective service recovery strategies when products do not meet customer expectations.

Qualifications
Required

  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and verbal communication in English.
  • Basic mathematical and computer skills.

Preferred

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in food service and cash handling.
