The opportunity
Delaware North Travel is seeking a full-time Barista to become a valuable member of our team at Detroit Airport in Detroit, Michigan. In this role, you will enhance the guest experience through a deep understanding of coffee knowledge and preparations, in addition to educating both teammates and customers while crafting beverages that meet our brand standards. What will you do?
– Inform guests about additional offerings and employ suggestive selling techniques.
– Serve food and beverages in appropriate portions while adhering to health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
– Assist with the opening and closing procedures of the location.
– Perform cleaning duties, including the cleaning of equipment.
– Record all transactions using the point of sale system; maintain an accurate cash count and balance registers at the end of your shift.
– Collect payments for food and beverage items; process credit card transactions or calculate the correct change for guests.

Physical requirements
– Constantly standing, walking, bending, reaching, and engaging in repetitive motions.
– Ability to remain stationary for the duration of the shift.
– Capable of lifting stock weighing up to 50 pounds.
