Job Description
Job Title: Barista, Detroit Airport
Company: Delaware North
Location: Detroit, MI
Pay: $16.3 per hour
AI Pay Analysis: The hourly rate of $16.30 for a Barista position at the Detroit Airport appears to be somewhat competitive but may be slightly below the average for similar roles in metropolitan areas. As of 2023, the typical pay for baristas in Detroit and similar markets usually ranges from $15 to $20 per hour, depending on experience and location, with airport roles generally offering a premium due to the high traffic and potential for tips. Additionally, factors such as the cost of living in Detroit, local minimum wage laws (which in Michigan is currently $10.10, increasing to $12.00 per hour in 2024), and competitor wages in the vicinity can further influence the competitiveness of this rate. Overall, while $16.30 is a reasonable starting wage, it may not fully leverage the skills and labor market realities for baristas in busy locations like airports.
