Job description:

We are currently seeking a full-time BARISTA to join our team immediately. This position is located at Zoetis Kalamazoo, 333 Portage Road, Kalamazoo, MI 49007. Please note that we only accept online applications.

Job Summary:
As a Barista, you will be responsible for preparing and serving coffee and espresso drinks, as well as related food and beverage items. This role necessitates adherence to HACCP guidelines and quality standards, while ensuring a friendly and courteous interaction with customers and colleagues.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare espresso and coffee orders for customers and catering using standardized measures and recipes.
  • Accurately enter orders into the POS system and handle cash and card payments.
  • Replenish condiments, beverages, and supplies while ensuring cleanliness in the service area.
  • Maintain proper presentation and portion control in accordance with HACCP standards.
  • Ensure the sanitation and organization of all equipment, supplies, and utensils.
  • Follow approved recipes and production standards for food preparation.
  • Keep display equipment clean and free from debris during service.
  • Thoroughly clean equipment and workstation prior to transitioning to other tasks.
  • Greet customers warmly and engage in a manner that promotes satisfaction, relaying any concerns to supervisors.
  • Serve customers efficiently to prevent delays in service lines.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of menu items and communicate them effectively to customers.
  • Utilize effective sales techniques through clear communication, assisting customers in decision-making.
  • Merchandise display foods attractively, serving them in a neat and appealing manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
