Job Description
Job Title: BARISTA (FULL TIME)
Company: Compass Group
Location: Ypsilanti, MI
Pay: $16.52 per hour
AI Pay Analysis: As of October 2023, an hourly rate of $16.52 for a full-time barista in Ypsilanti, MI, is somewhat below the national average for similar roles, which typically ranges from $17 to $20 per hour, depending on experience and specific duties. While it may be competitive within the local market, especially for entry-level positions, factors such as cost of living, local minimum wage laws, and prevailing business conditions should also be considered. Michigan’s minimum wage, which may have an impact on this rate, was set to increase gradually, and many coffee shops and cafes are increasingly offering higher wages to attract talent in a tight labor market. Overall, while the rate is not unattractive for a starting position, it may not fully align with industry standards, particularly in areas with higher living costs.
