Job description:

We are seeking to fill a part-time Barista position immediately. This role will be based at the Capital One Cafe located in Kenwood Towne Center, at 7875 Montgomery Road, Suite 2435, Cincinnati, OH 45236. Please note that we only accept online applications for this position.

The work schedule is part-time, with hours and days varying based on business needs. We prefer candidates with open availability, offering between 15 to 25 hours per week. Additional details regarding the schedule will be provided during the interview process.

Job Summary
In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and serving coffee, espresso drinks, and related food and beverage items. You will adhere to HACCP guidelines and maintain standards for quality food service operations. A key component of this position involves interacting with customers and colleagues in a friendly and courteous manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare espresso orders for customers and catering using standardized measures and recipes.
• Accurately enter orders into the POS device; process cash and credit transactions.
• Replenish condiments, beverages, and general supplies while ensuring cleanliness in the service area.
• Maintain proper presentation, portion control, and serving temperatures in accordance with HACCP standards.
• Ensure sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies, and utensils.
• Adhere to approved recipes and production standards for food preparation.
• Keep display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service.
• Thoroughly clean equipment and workstation before transitioning to other assignments.
• Greet customers courteously and interact to ensure a positive experience, relaying any relevant customer concerns to supervisors.
• Serve customers quickly and efficiently to minimize delays in service.
• Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of daily menu items and explain them accurately to customers.
• Advocate for selling techniques through effective communication, aiding customers in their decision-making process.
• Ensure all display items are attractively merchandised according to standards and serve food neatly and appealingly.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
