Job Title: BARISTA (PART TIME)

Company: Compass Group

Location: Detroit, MI

Pay: $16 per hour

AI Pay Analysis: As of late 2023, an hourly rate of $16 for a part-time barista position in Detroit, MI is generally considered competitive but may be on the lower end compared to broader industry standards, particularly given the rising cost of living and increased demand for service workers. In urban areas across the U.S., many coffee shops offer hourly wages ranging from $15 to $20, with some establishments paying more for experienced baristas or those with specialized skills, especially in specialty coffee settings. Additionally, factors such as tips, employee benefits, and the volume of business can significantly influence total earnings. Overall, while $16/hour may attract applicants, it could also be positioned as a starting wage that may require adjustments to retain talent in the competitive hospitality market.
