Job description:

We are currently seeking to fill a part-time Barista position with immediate availability. This role is based at Ohio Health, located at 300 East Town Street, Columbus, OH 43215. Please note that applications will only be accepted online.

The schedule for this position is flexible, comprising part-time hours from Monday to Friday. Specific hours will be discussed during the interview process. While prior barista experience is preferred, it is not a mandatory requirement. The compensation for this role ranges from $17.00 to $22.50 per hour.

Job Summary: In this role, you will prepare and serve coffee and espresso beverages as well as related food and beverage items. You will adhere to HACCP guidelines and maintain high standards of food-service operations while interacting with customers and colleagues in a courteous and friendly manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare espresso orders for customers and catering following standard recipes and measurements.
• Accurately enter orders into the POS device and process cash and credit transactions.
• Ensure the service area remains clean and well-stocked with condiments, beverages, and other supplies.
• Maintain proper presentation and portion control while ensuring food is served at appropriate temperatures in line with HACCP standards.
• Uphold sanitation and orderliness of all equipment and utensils.
• Prepare food using approved recipes and production standards.
• Keep display equipment free of debris during meal service.
• Thoroughly clean the workstation and equipment before transitioning to other tasks.
• Greet customers warmly and ensure their satisfaction, addressing any concerns with supervisors.
• Serve customers promptly to minimize delays in service.
• Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of daily menu items, providing accurate information to customers.
• Employ effective selling techniques to assist customers in their decision-making process.
• Present all display foods attractively and serve them neatly.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
