Job description:

Sweetwaters Coffee & Tea is seeking enthusiastic Baristas who are passionate about engaging with customers and crafting exceptional coffee, espresso, and tea beverages. As a well-established premium coffeehouse brand with over 29 years of successful operation since its founding in Ann Arbor, Sweetwaters offers a vibrant working environment. Our latest location is conveniently situated within Meijer, providing ample parking and easy access to public transport.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare coffee, tea, and espresso drinks to meet Sweetwaters’ high standards of quality and efficiency.
  • Deliver friendly, accurate, and prompt service to all guests.
  • Adhere to proper cash handling procedures and maintain accuracy during transactions.
  • Keep the café clean, organized, and welcoming at all times.
  • Stay informed about the various coffee, tea, and other menu offerings available at Sweetwaters, sharing that knowledge with customers.

Training Opportunities:

Barista training will be provided to candidates who successfully complete the New Team Member onboarding process.

Career Advancement:

There is potential for promotion into management training for candidates who demonstrate the right skills and dedication.

Position Requirements:

  • Strong customer service skills are essential, alongside a genuine appreciation for coffee or tea. Previous food service experience is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Must be available on weekends and able to work a minimum of 15 hours per week, including at least two weekend shifts.
  • A positive attitude and a love for a collaborative work environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Ability to lift or move up to 30 lbs.
  • Familiarity with cash handling and register systems is preferred.
  • A commitment to providing genuine, upbeat, and friendly customer service.
