Job description:
The Cleveland Museum of Natural History is seeking a dedicated Bartender to join our team. This position offers a competitive pay range of $20 to $22 per hour, along with unique opportunities for growth and professional development.

As a Bartender, you will be responsible for preparing and serving beverages to guests in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner. Your role will include the following essential duties and responsibilities:

– Adhere to state, federal, and corporate liquor regulations, particularly regarding the service of alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.
– Set up assigned bars; requisition and stock all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws, stirrers, condiments, glassware, ice, and produce.
– Maintain stock and prepare, cure, and store all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and other perishables to ensure product quality.
– Greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner.
– Take and process orders for drinks; mix, garnish, and present drinks using standard ingredient recipes while practicing prudent portion control.
– Verify proper identification for guests at the bar.
– Recognize signs of guest inebriation and take appropriate action as trained, demonstrating knowledge of liquor laws.
– Handle cash transactions, providing change, verifying the validity of charges, recording charges accurately, and ensuring proper execution of vouchers.
– Secure and store all beverage products, food items, equipment, deposits, and cash drops appropriately.
– Perform general cleaning tasks to comply with health and safety standards, keeping the work area clean and organized.
– Arrange bottles and glasses to maintain an attractive display in the bar area.
– Wash and sterilize stemware.
– Perform additional duties as assigned.
