Job description:
About the position: This is a Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) position assigned to Club Operations at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. The primary function of this role is to mix and serve pre-mixed alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages from a limited-service bar. The position requires frequent lifting or moving of objects weighing up to 40 pounds, continuous standing and walking, as well as regular stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and bending.

Duties
The incumbent will be responsible for operating limited-service bars. Key responsibilities include preparing a limited variety of alcoholic beverages by selecting appropriate premixes and garnishes and serving beer, soda, and wine. The successful candidate will serve patrons directly or provide orders to wait staff, manage cash transactions, operate the cash register, and handle change. Additional tasks include setting up the bar for operations, obtaining a cash bank, maintaining a neat and clean work area, washing bar equipment, glassware, and utensils, stocking service bars, and assisting senior bartenders as necessary. Documentation for cash funds accountability may also be required, along with other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifying Experience:
– Proven experience mixing alcoholic beverages for retail sale, along with knowledge of appropriate proportions and mixtures for beverage preparation.
– Ability to recognize intoxicated or unruly patrons and address the issue or seek assistance if necessary.
– Familiarity with cash handling procedures.
– Physical capability to frequently lift objects weighing between 5 to 15 pounds, pull and push items weighing 10 to 20 pounds, and occasionally lift over 40 pounds.
– Successful completion of a pre-employment physical examination.
– Compliance with the minimum age requirement for serving alcoholic beverages.
– Ability to secure a Food Handler’s Certificate and/or complete food handler’s training.
– Clear communication skills with customers, as well as adeptness in public interaction.
– Ability to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
