Job Summary:
The Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving beverages to guests in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
– Ensure adherence to state, federal, and corporate liquor regulations, particularly regarding service to minors and intoxicated individuals.
– Set up assigned bar areas and manage inventory including beer, wine, spirits, and other necessary supplies and equipment.
– Maintain product quality by preparing, curing, and storing fresh garnishes, juices, and perishables.
– Welcome guests with courtesy and friendliness.
– Take and process drink orders, mix, garnish, and present beverages according to standard recipes, practicing portion control.
– Verify guest identification as required.
– Recognize signs of inebriation and respond appropriately, demonstrating knowledge of applicable liquor laws.
– Handle cash transactions, including making change, verifying charges, and ensuring proper documentation.
– Secure all beverage products, food items, and cash; lock up and store as required.
– Perform routine cleaning and organization of the work area in compliance with health and safety standards.
– Arrange bottles and glassware attractively in the bar area.
– Wash and sterilize glassware.
– Fulfill additional duties as assigned.
