Quanex is seeking a Batch Off Operator for the 2nd Shift to join our team based in Cambridge, Ohio.

In this role, you will be responsible for producing high-quality products with minimal waste, while also assisting Strip Mill Operators with a variety of tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in establishing and maintaining compound processing procedures.
  • Perform general housekeeping and daily/weekly 5S duties.
  • Conduct safety checks as outlined in the Batch-Off safety checklist.
  • Operate the computer control system and maintain the bar code printer.
  • Refill the batch dip and ensure proper slab dip levels for the mixed compound.
  • Clean the gear pump head and assist in setup for the next job.
  • Ensure loop lengths are appropriately set according to the mixing recipe.
  • Guarantee that the rubber compound meets customer specifications and is packaged neatly in the correct containers.
  • Operate a forklift for various tasks.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of one year of experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • High school diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Willingness to work overtime, including weekends.
  • Ability to perform close visual work and read information in multiple formats.
  • Proficiency in general computer skills and strong attention to detail.

Compensation:
The hourly wage for this position is $18, with an additional $1.00 per hour shift premium for the 2nd Shift. The 2nd Shift operates from 2:45 PM to 11:00 PM.
