As the largest and fastest-growing pluralistic platform for engaging Jewish youth, we facilitate 725 teen-led local chapters and over 100 weekend retreats during the school year, complemented by a wide array of summer experiences including visits to Israel, global travel programs, and leadership camps. Time Commitment: 5-15 hours per week (variable), including some evenings and weekends required.
Pay: $15.00 – $18.00 per hour

What You Will Do as a BBYO Chapter Specialist:
As a vital member of our team, you will collaborate with chapters across the nation to enhance their programming, engagement, and overall impact. This position presents a unique opportunity to develop leadership skills, foster relationships within diverse communities, and contribute to the flourishing of BBYO chapters. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating directly with tweens (grades 6-7) and teens (grades 8-12) to design and implement impactful, engaging, and dynamic programs.
  • Providing coaching to teens on effective chapter management.
  • Attending chapter events and meetings to support and engage with participants.
  • Assisting teens in developing comprehensive chapter calendars.
  • Creating high-quality programs in collaboration with teen leaders.
  • Keeping chapters informed about organizational initiatives and updates.
  • Working alongside teens to attract and retain members, ensuring the growth and sustainability of chapters.
  • Managing and analyzing chapter attendance data, including event registration forms.
  • Partnering with colleagues to introduce innovative and enjoyable ideas to enhance community interaction.
  • Facilitating effective communication among chapters, parents, and relevant community members.
  • Participating in monthly meetings with a cohort of fellow chapter specialists.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least three years removed from high school.
  • This role includes in-person responsibilities; candidates must reside within or near the designated region.
  • A minimum of 5 hours per week is expected, with flexibility in scheduling.
  • A creative and responsible self-starter, comfortable with both taking initiative and collaborating with teens.
  • Previous experience with BBYO or similar youth/Jewish organizations is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Detail-oriented, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to travel independently to chapter or regional events.
