Job description:

Store associates play a vital role in providing exceptional service to both wholesale and retail customers by identifying their needs, addressing inquiries regarding Sherwin-Williams products, and recommending suitable solutions. The selected candidate will be located at Store #1184 at 5204 W. Jackson Rd, Ann Arbor, MI 48103, and this position is classified as part-time with an hourly wage starting at $15.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through exemplary sales service.
  • Assist customers in person and via phone to determine their needs while recommending appropriate products and services.
  • Cultivate trusting relationships with wholesale and retail customers.
  • Accurately process sales transactions in line with company policies and procedures.
  • Meet and exceed sales goals on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Maintain organized work order files and precise formulas.
  • Retrieve and prepare products from the sales floor or warehouse.
  • Tint and mix products to meet customer specifications as necessary.
  • Organize shelves and create appealing displays.
  • Clean and maintain store equipment.
  • Load and unload delivery trucks and assist with deliveries as needed.
  • Ensure assigned areas are stocked and presented in an appealing manner.
  • Stay knowledgeable about products and discuss available options with customers.
  • Adhere to inventory control procedures.
  • Recommend strategies to enhance sales performance.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Legal authorization to work in the country of employment without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and communicating in English.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and communicating in Spanish.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including retrieving materials from shelves, lifting, and carrying up to 50 lbs. frequently, and up to 70 lbs. occasionally, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Willingness to work all scheduled hours, including evenings and weekends, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A valid, unrestricted Driver’s License.
  • A minimum of a High School diploma or GED.
  • At least one year of experience in a delivery, retail, or customer service role.
  • Prior experience in selling paint and paint-related products.
  • Familiarity with operating tinting and mixing equipment.
