Job description:

Store associates play a vital role in fostering strong relationships with both wholesale and retail customers by understanding their needs and providing expert guidance on Sherwin-Williams products. These associates are responsible for addressing customer inquiries, recommending appropriate solutions, and promptly resolving any concerns to ensure an exceptional customer experience. It is essential for store associates to remain well-informed about product features and to uphold the organization’s high standards for both product quality and store presentation.

In addition to delivering outstanding customer service, store associates are tasked with achieving the store’s sales objectives. The role entails direct interaction with customers, which may include minors, as well as access to cash, various payment methods, electronic equipment, personal information, store merchandise, and other valuables. Given this level of access, the Company has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the integrity of business operations and the safety of customers, staff, and the community at large.

This position is based at Store #1018, located at 6100 W. Vernor Hwy, Detroit, MI 48209, and is classified as part-time, offering a starting rate of $16 per hour.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service.
  • Assist customers face-to-face and over the phone by identifying needs and presenting suitable products and services.
  • Foster trust-based relationships with wholesale and retail customers.
  • Accurately process sales transactions in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Meet and strive to exceed monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales goals.
  • Maintain organized work order files and product formulas.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, comprehending, and communicating in English and Spanish.
  • Able to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 70 lbs occasionally, with or without reasonable accommodation.
