Job description:
Element Midland is seeking a Business Development Manager to oversee designated accounts within a specific geographic region. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and pursuing sales opportunities to promote the comprehensive range of Element services within these accounts, with the aim of achieving established financial objectives. This role entails providing support for strategic or key accounts located within the assigned territory, facilitating their needs on a local level.
Key Responsibilities:
– Establish and proactively nurture professional relationships with key decision-makers and influencers within assigned accounts.
– Drive profitable sales growth by acquiring new clients, re-engaging dormant accounts, and expanding existing client relationships.
– Collect and analyze market and industry data, metrics, and trends to effectively address customer needs.
– Identify opportunities early in the sales process to secure maximum revenue for Element.
– Deliver impactful business development presentations, negotiate contracts, and close deals with designated accounts in collaboration with local business development teams.
– Serve as a positive representative of Element in the community and industry, engaging in professional organizations, participating in company project teams, conducting employee meetings, and attending industry association events.
– Prepare detailed reports and presentations that track sales volume by sector, region, location, and potential areas for client base expansion.
– Timely follow up on quotations within the assigned customer portfolio to ensure high levels of customer service.
– Achieve sales targets through effective conversion, retention, and further penetration of accounts.
– Collaborate closely with other sales team members and leverage technical support to maximize sales outcomes within the territory.
– Guide the sales process through crucial phases including qualification, relationship building, needs assessment, solution development/presentation, and closing.
– Identify and address comprehensive customer testing needs to uncover additional growth opportunities across Element’s services.
– Regularly utilize CRM to accurately log activities, maintain updated contact information, and ensure timely records of calls and visits.
– Actively participate in pipeline reviews, keeping CRM records current and identifying critical success factors for key opportunities.
– Acquire and maintain in-depth knowledge of Element’s service offerings by engaging in relevant training and coaching sessions.
– Ensure compliance with all Element policies, including but not limited to Terms and Conditions, trade compliance, treatment of others, ethical conduct, and the employee handbook.
– Adhere to all relevant laws and regulations pertaining to safety, the environment, and corporate governance.
Skills and Qualifications:
– A minimum of 10 years of technical experience in a sales-related role.
– A Bachelor of Science degree in Material Sciences is preferred, although other four-year degrees will be considered.
– Experience in testing, metallurgical processes, or composites is advantageous.
– Proficiency in interpreting testing procedures and requirements.
– Strong competencies in Microsoft applications, including Dynamics AX and CRM, Word, and Excel.
– Availability, flexibility, and professionalism to represent the company across a diverse array of events/projects within the community and with clients.
– Composure under pressure, with the ability to manage deadlines and multiple priorities effectively.
– Excellent oral and written communication skills to accommodate varying communication needs.
