This role is essential in optimizing the revenue cycle by performing accurate insurance eligibility verification, capturing insurance data, and entering patient demographic information. Responsibilities also include the collection of co-payments and the timely completion of referrals and authorizations. The incumbent will greet and register patients, ensuring the accurate recording of patient information during the registration process to maintain proper records for all services rendered.
Education Minimum:
A High School Diploma is required. An Associate’s Degree in a healthcare-related field is preferred.
Related Experience Preferred:
A minimum of two years of experience in a medical office is preferred.
Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Candidates should possess a foundational knowledge of medical terminology, with a working understanding of managed care insurance plans and the revenue cycle process. Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent customer service abilities, and a capacity to interact with individuals from diverse backgrounds and educational levels are crucial.
