Job description:

Nino Salvaggio is seeking a Café Associate to join our team at the Clinton Township location.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve a variety of beverages, including coffee, tea, smoothies, and others, to customers.
  • Serve food items such as hot soup, baked goods, and pizza, and prepare them as needed.
  • Follow company recipes to prepare food items accurately.
  • Greet all customers warmly, providing prompt, courteous, and exceptional service.
  • Process customer purchases using the cash register while adhering to all company procedures.
  • Answer multi-line phone calls, transferring or routing them as necessary.
  • Maintain an organized display and stock of all coffee bar supplies, including beverages, condiments, utensils, and baked goods.
  • Uphold a neat and well-groomed personal appearance at all times.
  • Handle damaged or spoiled products according to departmental guidelines and assist in managing inventory levels effectively.
  • Ensure the café’s cleanliness in compliance with safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
  • Report any safety or equipment issues or violations to management immediately.
  • Support the training of new associates as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
  • Reliable transportation is a must.
  • Previous experience in cash handling and customer service is required.
  • Experience in a coffee bar or café setting is preferred.
  • Capable of standing and/or walking for extended periods of 8 or more hours.
  • Ability to operate equipment safely and correctly.
  • Strong multitasking abilities, a positive attitude, and effective problem-solving skills.
